Imogen, disguised as a boy and starving, stumbles upon Belarius's cave in Wales. Belarius and his two wards, Guiderius and Arviragus, welcome her warmly, unaware of her true identity. Imogen finds solace in their genuine kindness after days of hardship, reflecting that these humble mountain dwellers embody more nobility than courtiers.
